1968년에 발표한 아프로디테스 차일드 (Aprodite's Child)의
1집 앨범 [End of the World] 수록곡..
Aprodite's Child는 'Demis roussos' , 'Vangelis', 'Loukas sideras'로 구성된
그리스의 3인조 그룹이다.
'Rain & Tears'는 그 유명한 Johan Pahelbel의 'Canon D장조'를 편곡하여
가사를 입히고 Demis Roussos의 서정적인 보컬이 매력적인
Aphrodite's Child의 대표작으로 자리잡은 곡이다.
앨범 타이틀곡인 'End of the World' 보다 더 큰 상업적 성공을 거둔
'Rain and Tears'는 특히 이탈리아에서는 Lacrime e Pioggia라는 제목으로
번안되어 달리다(Dalida) 많은 가수들이 리메이크하기도 했다.
국내에서도 많은 사랑을 받고 있는 곡으로 한국인이 가장 사랑하는 팝송에도
올라와 있다.
