캣 스티븐스 (Cat Stevens)는 1948년생으로
영국 런던 출신의 싱어송라이터이자
교육·인권 자선운동가이다.
앨범 수록곡인 'Morning Has Broken'는
싱글로 발매되어 미국 빌보드 싱글 차트
6위까지 올랐고, 이지 리스닝 차트
(Easy Listening Chart)에서는
1위를 차지한 곡이다.
'Morning Has Broken'의 원곡은
스코틀랜드 민속 음악으로
1931년에 나온 기독교 찬송가이며
지금은 캣 스티븐스의 대표곡이 되었다.
2003년에 개봉한 엄정화, 장진영, 김주혁,
이범수 등이 출연한 영화 '싱글즈'의
OST로 쓰이며 국내 음악팬들에게도
꾸준히 사랑을 받고 있는 곡이다.
