Arabesque - Hello Mr. Monkey
'Hello Mr. Monkey'는 1978년에 발매된 아라베스크 (Arabesque)의 데뷔 앨범 [Friday Night] 수록곡이다.
'Hello Mr. Monkey'는 1977년 싱글은 독일에서 처음 발매되었고, 1978년에 전 세계적으로 출시되었다. 'Hello Mr. Monkey'는 디스코 붐을 타고 특히 일본과 러시아 (당시 소련) 그리고 한국에서 크게 히트를 하였다. 일본에서는 차트 몇 주 동안 1위를 차지하기도 하였는데 오히려 유럽에서는 차트 진입에 실패하였다.
아라베스크는 1977년 결성된 여성 트리오 그룹으로 멤버로는 산드라 라우어 (Sandra Lauer), 자스민 (Jasmin), 미카엘라 (Michaela)의 3명으로 이루어져 있는 유로 팝 그룹이다.
1978년 당시 절정의 인기를 자랑하던 일본의 핑크 레이디가 'Hello Mr. Monkey'를 자신들의 라이브 앨범에 수록할 정도로 일본에서의 인기가 상당히 높았고, 국내에서도 크게 히트하며 1981년 서울에서 내한 공연을 가지기도 하였다.
